Their bespoke system worked for years. Then it was time for Lunchdrive.

An engineering company with four plants had used a bespoke catering system for years. Rather than develop a new one, it chose Lunchdrive and retained control of its data flows through the API.

About the company

Beneš a Lát is a family-owned engineering company founded in 1934. It produces cast aluminium and zinc components, injection-moulded plastics and casting machines of its own design. It also develops the Seva toy brand.

The brief

Its bespoke catering system needed modernising. The choice was to build a new one or outsource. Accustomed to solutions tailored precisely to its needs, the company compared every function in detail. Aligning requirements, negotiations and additional development took two years — and proved worthwhile.

The solution

  • ordering and collection terminals across four plants
  • ordering for an employee’s home plant or another plant while travelling for work
  • additional kiosk purchases by value, kiosk limits and collection times included in billing
  • access roles and reporting emails for food providers and responsible staff
  • API integration with Giriton attendance
  • user imports and updates, plus data downloads to the company ERP through the API, with data flows managed directly by IT

Results

After four months in operation, the system works exactly as Beneš a Lát envisaged two years earlier. IT retains full control of the data, while employees quickly became comfortable using it on desktop and mobile.

“Lunchdrive is now an integral part of our information system.”
